My device is carrier-locked; can I still use an eSIM Scout plan?

Updated April 22, 2026

For an eSIM Scout plan to function, your device must be 'carrier-unlocked.' If you acquired your phone directly from a mobile provider (e.g., Verizon, AT&T, O2) under a contract, it is highly probable that it is locked. We strongly advise confirming your phone's unlocked status with your home carrier before purchasing an eSIM. An unlocked device is a prerequisite for seamless activation and reliable service from eSIM Scout.
