Why do I need a CoreESIM for USVI despite my U.S. carrier (e.g., AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) service usually extending to U.S. territories?

Updated April 22, 2026

While U.S. Virgin Islands are a U.S. territory, CoreESIM recommends a dedicated plan to prevent inadvertent international roaming. Due to the mountainous terrain and proximity to the British Virgin Islands (BVI), your device may preferentially register on a BVI network, incurring significant out-of-plan charges. A CoreESIM plan specifically for the USVI ensures your device connects exclusively to approved local U.S. networks, providing predictable billing and optimal performance without risk of border-bleed roaming.
